My holiday in summer feels like ages ago now but thought I would post some snaps ( better late than never! )

The other day at Uni I had a lecture on Fashion Videos and really enjoyed it! We watched several different videos from commercial adverts to more artistic pieces. Since this lecture I have been researching different fashion and art videos and some that I have found have been both, really inspiring and interesting.
Fashion Videos are also a great way of giving consumers that behind the scenes insight in to the fashion world and people love seeing this!
Below are some of my favourite videos that I found:

Number 1: EsquivelEsquivel Shoes, California - A video based around the making and prodcution of there shoes! Great ad!

Number 2: Issa, Behind the scenes footage of the A/W 11 show

Number 3: The Sartorialist, A beautifully shot video all about the photographer Scott Schuman and his blog The Sartorialist.

And this video purely because I love it.

So to start off my posts on my favourite shows from New York, London and Paris I thought I would start with the most recent; Alexander McQueen.
McQueen is always a show I love, not just for the elegance of the clothing and the constant innovation the house presents, but for the beautiful craftsmanship, that we continually see every season, and this season was no different. The show followed a honey comb theme/bee and even had head pieces representing bee keepers. The colour scheme  throughout the collection was honey themed, and the garments exaggerated structured hips and of course true to style, featured stunning detailing.

As mentioned in my earlier post on A/W trends, I am going to do a post on all the big trends that are big in this upcoming Autumn/Winter. The second big trend this A/W is fur, but of course faux fur! However, I am not talking your typical dark tones, this season is all about the brightest it can be! Fluoro shades of fur were all over the catwalk from Moschino Cheap & Chic's multi-coloured coats to Marc Jacobs oversized Jamiroquai inspired hats.
Rainbow furs are a must for this upcoming season, to brighten up those dull winter days!

Last week I went to The Olympics, which was an amazing experience! I managed to see The Waterpolo, Fencing and Basketball as well as go up the Anish Kapoor sculpture, The Orbit.
The Orbit stands 115 metres tall within the Olympic park and offers beautiful views over the whole of London.
Below are some of my pictures that I took around the Olympic park.

The Summer sales have been on for a few weeks or so now, and I have brought a few pieces myself, especially from the Zara sale which of course I am a big fan of! Now the sales have been on for a while and are in to final reductions, I thought I would show some great pieces to snap up!

So considering the recent weather and the severe lack of summer, I cant help but think of the Autumn/Winter trends for this upcoming season! The shops are beginning to get in the new season stock for A/W, so thought I would put together some mood boards of the big trends to look out for!
The first trend that I am a big fan of this season is Winter Florals, usually quite a predictable trend for Spring/Summer, the Floral this year is big for A/W. This time however, the florals are not dainty and cute, more bold and powerful.
Florals are experimental for A/W 12. Preen, this season was full of mixed floral prints, and not just on too beautiful wools, also sewn behind a layer of sequins.  McQueen saw 3D florals sewn on to mesh and both Dolce & Gabbana and Christopher Kane saw florals on voluminous and structured shapes.

I am excited to see more interpretations from the high street for this trend, as I love some bold printed pieces for Autumn!
Been a while since the last blog post! But here is a post from the final year fashion film from my course that I helped backstage with, it was a lot of fun and so good to see what I could be doing in a few years to come!
The Fashion film was filmed in an old warehouse not far from our Uni and then was shown at the final year exibit at the Old Truman Brewery in London. Managed to take some pictures from backstage, enjoy!

Shot this a few weeks back, when the weather was lovely although the sun was out today, so hopefully summer has finally begun and I can start wearing summer clothes!
Been a busy few weeks, hence the lack of posts but should be more coming soon :)

Outfit mostly Topshop apart from boots - ASOS, Necklace - Miss Selfridge and the bag -  AWear

Today marks the beginning of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, Australian Fashion Week is held in Sydney till May the 4th. I have been following the event on twitter and am really interested in the designers and collections coming out of Aus.
A collection that I am especially excited to see is from the designer MISS UNKON, I love the simple cuts and light colour palettes that she designs with, also her look books are always stunning and I love the softness of the images.
