New York Fashion Week has now been and gone and so thought I would do a round up of the shows that have stood out for me. Below are some pictures from my favourite shows, beginning with DVF at the top which was full off rich blues, pinks and mustards. There was of course the signature DVF draped pieces, teamed with some edgier PVC skirts and trousers.
Derek Lam was my next favourite, the collection was mostly monochrome with the occasional pop of red or mustard in a collar or print, these tones and prints put on to the tailored pieces made for a very chic collection.
Finally is Thakoon, the colour palette was full of reds and fuchsia’s and featured lovely silhouettes that flattered the body. I also loved the kitsch prints on the dresses.

Spring 2012 Couture Fashion Week in Paris has been and gone, So I have posted a bit about some of the shows below.
Pictures below from left to right; Chanel, Dior, Valentino and Alexis Mabille - I loved the head pieces at Alexis Mabille, so pretty.
Below is Jean Paul Gaultier my least favorite show from 2012 Paris Couture Fashion Week. His muse for the collection was Amy Winehouse, but not sure there was such a need to take it so much to the catwalk- bit OTT. Really not a fan of the big hair, strange cuts, trashy colours and cheap looking fabrics, way over the top for me.

On the other hand Elie Saab was stunning and definitely my favourite show of PFW, the show was full of pastel shades and beautiful lightweight fabrics that floated down the runway.
